AI Voice Cloning Rules

AI voice cloning — using an AI model to generate speech in a specific person's voice — is allowed on Fansit under the same likeness and disclosure rules as visual AI content.

Whose voice you can clone

Same three categories as visual AI content:

  1. Your own voice — you can clone yourself to generate audio at scale, automate voice notes, etc.
  2. A unique fictional voice — a voice that doesn't sound like any specific real person.
  3. A real person who has provided documented, revocable consent.

Cloning anyone else's voice — celebrities, public figures, ex-partners, anyone you don't have written consent from — is banned.

Disclosure

Voice content generated or modified by AI must be labeled as AI on every individual file, the same way visual AI content is labeled. The composer surfaces the AI label step before publishing.

This applies to:

  • Audio posts generated entirely by AI voice cloning.
  • Voice notes in DMs that use AI voice cloning.
  • Live streams where you're using AI voice modification (the AI badge must remain visible throughout).
  • Audio overlays on video posts.

What AI voice means

You must label AI voice content if:

  • The audio is generated entirely by an AI voice model.
  • A real recording was modified by AI (pitch shift, voice replacement, AI cleanup that changes the speaker's voice characteristics).
  • An AI voice clone of you is used to read text you wrote.

You don't need to label:

  • Audio you actually recorded with your own voice and standard editing (EQ, compression, noise reduction).
  • AI-assisted noise removal that doesn't change the voice itself.
  • Real-time voice that you're physically speaking, even if processed.

Voice clones of yourself

You can use AI voice cloning of your own voice freely. It's especially useful for:

  • Bulk audio generation — create dozens of voice notes at scale.
  • Localization — generate audio in multiple languages.
  • Consistency — produce voice content even when you have a sore throat.

We may, in rare cases, ask for verification that the AI voice is yours (e.g., a sample recording for comparison).

Consent for cloning others

If you want to clone a real person's voice (with their consent), the consent record must specifically authorize:

  • AI voice cloning as a technique.
  • The scope of use — what content, what platforms, what timeframe.
  • Revocability — the person can revoke at any time, and you must comply within 14 days.

Same rules as visual likeness. See AI Likeness and Consent for the full consent requirements.

What gets you banned

  • Voice clones of celebrities or public figures — even for "parody" or "satire." Banned.
  • Voice clones of private individuals without consent — an ex's voice, a coworker, anyone you didn't get written permission from. Banned.
  • Sexual content using a cloned voice without consent specific to sexual content — even if the person consented to general voice cloning, sexual use requires explicit additional consent.
  • Undisclosed AI voice content — labeling violations follow the standard warning system.

Voice clones in live streams

Real-time voice modification in live streams is subject to the same rules:

  • The AI badge must remain visible throughout the stream.
  • The voice modification must be disclosed (mention it once at stream start, or use the visible AI overlay).
  • The rules on whose voice you can clone apply in real time.

For more on streaming with AI, see Going Live.

Common AI voice tools

We don't endorse specific tools, but the disclosure rules apply regardless of which tool you use:

  • ElevenLabs.
  • Resemble AI.
  • Voice.ai.
  • OpenAI Voice Engine.
  • Custom-trained models.

If the output of your tool was generated by AI in a way that affects the voice characteristics, label it.

Penalties

Voice cloning violations follow the same warning system as other AI content violations:

  • First instance: content removed, warning issued.
  • Second instance: Caution tier.
  • Third instance: Restriction.
  • Voice clones of real people without consent: Termination, possibly immediate depending on the depicted person's response.

Voice clones in non-consensual or sexual contexts of real people are treated as non-consensual intimate imagery and are subject to the immediate, permanent termination rule.

When in doubt

Email legal@fansit.com before posting. We'll give you a yes/no within 1 business day. Posting borderline voice content and finding out later it's a violation can cost you the account.
