Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your Fansit account from settings. Account deletion is mostly irreversible — read this article first.
What account deletion does
- Removes your profile from public view immediately.
- Cancels all active subscriptions you have (your subscriptions to other creators).
- For creators: stops auto-renewal of your subscribers' subscriptions to you, with pro-rated FanBucks credit refunds.
- Removes your content from the platform within 24 hours.
- Closes your wallet — any FanBucks balance below the $50 minimum is forfeited; balance above the minimum is paid out via ACH (creators) or refunded to card (fans).
- Disables future login with the same email.
What account deletion does NOT do
- Does not refund tips you've sent or received. Tips are non-refundable.
- Does not remove records required by law:
- §2257 records for any adult content posted (kept for 7+ years).
- Tax records (kept for 7+ years).
- Transaction records (kept for 7+ years).
- Does not remove DMs you've sent — they stay in the recipient's inbox.
- Does not refund PPV content fans bought from you. Lifetime access guarantees apply — fans keep what they paid for.
- Does not allow you to come back later under the same identity (with one exception, see below).
Step by step
- Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Read the warning carefully.
- Enter your password to confirm.
- Enter the verification code sent to your email.
- Confirm by typing DELETE in the field.
- Tap Permanently delete account.
The deletion is queued. Your account is immediately deactivated (profile hidden, subscriptions cancelled). The full data deletion happens over the next 24-72 hours.
Cool-off window
After clicking delete:
- Your account is suspended for 30 days before final deletion.
- During this window, you can cancel the deletion by logging back in and confirming.
- After 30 days, deletion is final and unrecoverable.
This window prevents accidental and emotionally-driven deletions.
What happens to your subscriptions
As a fan:
- All your active subscriptions are cancelled immediately.
- You retain access to subscriber content until each subscription period ends (since you already paid).
- Your wallet balance is processed:
- Above $50: refunded to your card on file.
- Below $50: forfeited (we don't process sub-threshold refunds).
As a creator with subscribers:
- All your subscribers' subscriptions are cancelled.
- The unused portion of each subscriber's current period is refunded as FanBucks credit to their wallet.
- They keep access until cancellation processes (immediate when account deletion is final).
What happens to your purchased content
For fans:
- PPV content you bought is gone after account deletion.
- This is one reason to download or screenshot anything you want to keep before deleting (subject to no-redistribution rules in AUP).
- The "lifetime PPV access" guarantee requires the account to exist.
What happens to creator earnings
If you're a creator with positive wallet balance:
- Pending balance continues to mature on the standard 10-day schedule.
- Available balance is paid out at the next normal payout cycle.
- The full payout often takes 2-4 weeks after the account closure date.
If the account is terminated for cause rather than voluntarily deleted, the holdback period extends to 180 days. See What Happens After Account Termination.
Can I come back?
For voluntary deletion within 30 days: yes, log in and cancel the deletion.
For voluntary deletion after 30 days: generally no, but you can email support@fansit.com with your prior account info. We can sometimes restore an account within ~6 months of deletion if there's a clear case (e.g., emotional decision the user regrets and wants reversed). After 6 months, recovery isn't possible.
For terminated accounts: no. Termination permanently bans the KYC identity.
What about creating a new account later?
If you've deleted an account and want to create a new one:
- With the same email: wait until the original account is fully deleted (30 days), then sign up.
- For creators: your KYC identity is in our records. Creating a new account under the same identity is permitted after voluntary deletion, but if you were terminated, it's prohibited.
- Privacy: creating a new account doesn't give you back any previous content, subscriptions, or earnings.
Privacy and §2257
Even after account deletion, we retain certain records as required by law:
- §2257 records for adult content you posted: identity verification + age verification + content metadata. Kept for the greater of 7 years or as required.
- Tax records for any year you had earnings: 7 years.
- Transaction records for fraud prevention and dispute defense: 7 years.
- Anti-money-laundering records (where applicable).
These records are kept securely and accessed only when legally required (audits, law enforcement requests, etc.). They are not shared with anyone else and cannot be retrieved by you after deletion.
For full retention details, see the Privacy Policy.
When account deletion is the right choice
- You're moving to another platform and want a clean exit.
- You no longer want to use Fansit and want to remove your data.
- You're closing a business that operated through Fansit.
When it's not the right choice
- Just don't want notifications. Disable notifications instead.
- Don't want the subscription anymore. Cancel the subscription, not the whole account.
- Privacy concern. Consider what privacy controls you can use first (anonymous browsing, blocking creators, etc.).
- Frustration with a specific issue. Reach out to support — most issues are resolvable.
Account deletion should be a deliberate, considered choice. The 30-day cool-off period exists for a reason.
After deletion
Once deletion is final:
- Your username is released for someone else to claim.
- Your KYC identity can re-register (subject to the rules above).
- Your content is gone except for §2257-required retention.
- Your messaging history in others' inboxes remains.
- Your tax and transaction history is retained for legal periods.
If you need a copy of your transaction history or tax info before deletion, export it from Settings → Account → Export Data before initiating deletion.
