Using an International Card on Fansit
Fansit accepts Visa and Mastercard from most countries. Some are flagged more often by issuing banks than others. Here's what to know if you're using a foreign-issued card.
Common issues with international cards
- Bank declines based on country code. Many banks block adult-content merchants by default, especially U.S.-based merchants. You'll need to call your bank and ask them to authorize transactions with PERSONA PAYMENTS.
- 3D Secure flow loops or fails. Some banks' 3D Secure implementations don't play well with our processor. Try a different browser or device.
- Currency conversion fee. Your bank may charge a small foreign-transaction fee on top of the FanBucks purchase price.
- Card not approved for international use. Some debit cards are domestic-only.
What to try first
- Confirm your card is approved for international online purchases. Call your bank or check the app.
- Use a credit card if a debit card fails. Credit cards usually have higher international approval rates than debit.
- Try a different package size. Some banks decline very small or very large transactions as part of fraud prevention.
- Try a different browser or device. 3D Secure issues sometimes resolve when you switch contexts.
- Disable any card-locking app feature that might be blocking the charge.
Specific country notes
- Germany & EU SCA-strict banks. "Transaction not permitted to cardholder" usually means Strong Customer Authentication failed. Call your bank, complete a small in-app authorization, then retry.
- India. RBI rules require additional authentication for international card-not-present transactions. Use a card explicitly enabled for international online use.
- UK. Some challenger banks (Monzo, Revolut, Starling) have a dedicated app toggle for adult-content merchants — check there first.
- Australia. Most major banks work fine; Coles Mastercard and some prepaid cards do not.
When to give up and email support
If you've tried two cards and called your bank and it's still failing, email support@fansit.com with:
- Country of issuance.
- Card brand (Visa / Mastercard).
- Card type (credit / debit).
- The exact error message you saw.
We may be able to identify a processor-side block or recommend a workaround.
