Changing Your Email Address
You can update the email associated with your Fansit account from settings. The change requires confirming the new email through a verification link.
How to change
- Settings → Account → Email.
- Tap Change email address.
- Enter your current password to confirm.
- Enter your new email address.
- Tap Send verification.
We send a confirmation link to the new address. Click it to complete the change.
What happens next
- Your old email stops receiving Fansit communications immediately after you complete verification.
- Your new email receives all future communications (transaction receipts, marketing if you've opted in, security alerts).
- Login still works with both emails for 7 days as a safety window — after that, only the new email.
Common issues
Verification email didn't arrive.
- Check your spam folder.
- Make sure the email address is spelled correctly.
- If still missing after 5 minutes, request a new one from Settings → Account → Email — the previous request expires automatically.
"This email is already in use."
The email is already attached to a different Fansit account. You can:
- Use a different email.
- Or delete the existing account that uses that email first.
Verification link expired.
Verification links expire after 24 hours. Request a new one.
What we change automatically
Changing your email also:
- Updates your communication preferences to apply to the new email.
- Updates your tax-form recipient address (if applicable).
- Updates any 2FA backup methods that reference your email.
What we don't change
- Your username stays the same.
- Your password stays the same.
- Your profile stays the same.
- Your subscriptions, payments, and content are unaffected.
If you've lost access to your old email
If you no longer have access to the old email and can't complete the standard verification flow:
- Email support@fansit.com from the new email you want to use.
- Include your username and the last 4 digits of any payment method on file.
- We may ask for additional verification (e.g., recent transaction details, KYC info if you're a creator).
- After verification, we manually update the email address.
This process takes 2-5 business days. We're cautious because email takeover is one of the most common account-compromise vectors.
After changing
A few things to update:
- Save the new email in your password manager.
- Update notification preferences if needed.
- Make sure your bank statement contact (if separate) is updated for receipts.
