Subscription Auto-Renewal
All Fansit subscriptions auto-renew by default — monthly subs renew every 30 days, annual subs renew every 365 days. This article covers how renewals work, how to turn auto-renewal off, and what happens if the renewal payment fails.
How renewal works
A few hours before your renewal date:
- We check your FanBucks balance.
- If you have enough, we deduct the subscription cost from your wallet.
- If you don't have enough, we charge your default card for a FanBucks package and complete the renewal.
- If the card fails, we retry twice over the next 48 hours.
- If all retries fail, the subscription expires and you lose access.
You'll get an email receipt for every successful renewal.
Turning off auto-renewal
Two paths:
From the creator's profile:
- Tap Subscription (or Subscribed).
- Tap Cancel auto-renewal.
From settings:
- Settings → Subscriptions.
- Find the subscription, tap the toggle next to Auto-Renew.
Either way, auto-renewal turns off immediately. Your current period stays active until the expiration date.
What if I want renewal to use my card instead of FanBucks?
By default, we always try FanBucks first to minimize card friction. To force card-only renewal:
- Drain your FanBucks balance (it's a workaround, but it works).
- Or contact support@fansit.com to request card-only renewal mode for your account.
What if my renewal fails?
If the renewal can't go through:
- You'll get an email and push notification.
- You have 48 hours during which we retry.
- If all retries fail, the subscription expires and the creator's content locks.
To recover before expiration:
- Add or update your card in Settings → Payment Methods.
- Manually buy enough FanBucks to cover the renewal.
- The next retry should succeed.
Annual sub renewal reminders
For annual subs only, we send a renewal reminder 7 days before the charge so you have a chance to cancel without losing the year-out commitment surprise.
Monthly subs don't get advance reminders — the assumption is you're tracking them yourself.
